Fill dry material modification, subgrade stabilisation, subbase and basecourse stabilisation and foamed bitumen stabilisation.

Project Highlights

More than 20,000m² cement subbase/basecourse stabilisation completed in one day. Zero LTI’s or MTI over 19,285 man hours.

With Hiway Stabilizers wide range of pavement solutions including lime and cement blends to optimise subgrade strength and design/technical input as required on pavements, multiple teams were deployed to the project at certain stages of construction over a three year period to achieve the clients project requirements within the tight timeframes.

Pūhoi to Warkworth is the first of two stages for Ara Tūhono, an extension of Auckland’s Northern Motorway on State Highway 1. Hiway Stabilizers are working alongside NX2 to deliver both the stabilised Subgrade and Subgrade Improvement Layer for the 18.5km project.

Pacific Highway Upgrade Project

Plant Mixed Foam Bitumen was produced and stockpiled at a nearby quarry, then hauled to the paving sites. The production target at the plant was to be a consistent 1500 tonnes per day with sufficient road haulage vehicles to ensure continuous operation of the paving operations.
