Hiway Group owns and operates two Reterra soil recyclers. This innovative technology offers customers a cost effective, environmentally sound soil recycling solution for what is often costly geotechnical remediation.
Applications
Stabilisation and solidification of contaminated soils
Soil recycling and stabilisation to improve engineering properties
Reuse of stabilised materials to improve otherwise unsuitable materials for construction purposes
Solidification of sludge and high-water content soils
Cement treated basecourse and aggregates for road or heavy-duty platform construction
Benefits
Eliminates costs associated with transportation, labour, landfill disposal and purchase of new materials
Suitable for a wide range of soil types from friable to highly plastic clays, silt, sand up to 200mm aggregate, contaminated soils, mud and sludge (where no dewatering is required)
Decades of experience in binder selection, testing protocols and specifications and achievable design parameters
Mobile low ground pressure tracked machine is easy to move onsite
On-board computer control ensures quality control and a consistent mixture of soils/aggregates and binders to achieve the desired strength and immobilisation of contaminants
Low environmental impact
Minimal dust, noise and vibration, with maximum recycling and performance benefits
Soil Recycling
The Reterra soil recycler is a purpose-built, soil stabilising and conditioning machine that provides an ex-situ pug-mill type solution to replace or complement insitu treatment options. It recycles soil for improved performance, remediates contaminated soil/aggregate and manufactures binder treated aggregates.
Internationally, stabilisation and solidification of contaminated soils and granular materials is regarded as a proven way to treat and improve materials on site.
